Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone!!! HAHA, I wish that I could say that I was so popular that the title of this blog was my weekend schedule. But thankfully for my diet, it's not true. Is everyone else making it through the BBQs and sticking to their diets? My mother in law tempted me with white chocolate popcorn tonight. MMMMmmmm. I totally gave in! haha!
For today's post, I thought I'd pose a question: What diet plan are you guys following?
My husband and I were doing a very strict diet and we met with a nutritionist and exercise consultant once a week. We recently decided that that wasn't working for us. We had a good talk tonight and I think we want to check out Weight Watchers. Does anyone have any success/horror stories about WW?? What about Jenny Craig? Or LA Weightloss?
I'd love to hear your feedback! Thanks guys!

I'm loosely doing weight watchers. Since the end of the semester, I've really worn off of the WW wagon, but I'm still adhereing to 7 fruits/veggies a day and implementing the WW tips into my life. It's been a lifestyle change, I just want to get back on tracking my points more religiously!
Oh my gosh I LOVE Weight Watchers. I could seriously talk forever about how great it is. But, just quickly I will say you should definitely check it out. Like any "diet", it's not easy, but on WW you really can eat whatever you want, but it forces you to pay close attention to your choices and make better ones. It truly is a lifestyle change, but one that is realistic and doable. I've lost 30 pounds since mid-December and I feel like a new person. I highly recommend it!
I've done weight watches and had great success. I think it really works if you do it.
i am doing sparkpeople.com, and it is the easiest and most wonderfullest thang EVAH!
i am serious.
all i have to do is click back a bit on portions and make sure i stay in a calorie range that is reasonable enough to suit my goals (1200-1500) and keep the exercise up. then i just eat what i want, maybe just a little less of it! goooood times.
Weight watchers DOES work. Also, it does an AWESOME job of horrifying you when you realize how many 'points' your favorite (fill in the blank) is
No real plan here... just try to watch what I eat.
I am taking slimquick Extreme, sold at GNC. I can't really tell you what it does, but it works!. I have noticed that I am not as hungry at night, and/or eat less, but I do still have the boredom hunger. I have to fight that hard!
I can truly say that Weight Watchers changed my life. My husband and I started WW about a year and a half ago. He lost 60 lbs in about 6 months and I lost 75 lbs in just under a year.

We feel great and have completely changed the way we approach eating. We learned how through WW. I can't say enough about what a good program it is - for us, we got our lives back.
I have had a lot of success with WW. Like anything, you have to stick with it. It really works if you like the freedom to eat what you want, just watching portions. I worked at LA Weight Loss for almost two years. While there, I maintained my lowest weight by following the program during the week and treating myself on the weekends. However, it is very expensive and very strict. A lot of foods are off limits. You meet with a counselor 3 times a week which is good if you are at a plateau and need someone to talk to. You are weighed each time, so you have to focus on the weight lost at the end of the week, not at each weigh in.
I don't necessarily have a success of horror story but I did work for LA Weight Loss for 2 years so I feel somewhat qualified to talk about it. I ended my employment with them 3 years ago so, undoubtedly, their program has changed since I was an "expert" but I'm sure the same key principles remain. On this program accountability is a huge component. Three times per week you meet with a counselor, weigh in front of them and show them your food diary. We had clients who lost tons and tons of weight on the program but also clients who "half-assed" it and lost nothing.
My way of eating is as follows- anytime I stick to the below, I really don't have to count calories, I just eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full-
1) Whole foods- no boxed dinners, not even frozen meals, etc. Just food in its natural state
2) I eat a ton of veggies and a good amount of fruit (I'm a vegetarian)and beans of all kinds- lots of food for very, very little calories.
3) The only thing I drink is water. Juice, even 100% juice, isn't as good for you (or as cheap) as just eating the fruit.
4) I don't eat fast food- ever- this mostly has to do with my being a vegetarian, but also to do with my being grossed out by fried foods- they make me feel heavy.
I just find that if I look at my body as a machine I need to fuel, I take care of it better. Especially when I'm exercising, and I feel my body working hard, and I feel grateful that I can swim and run and dance and jump, and I want to take care of it and give it good things. When I first started off trying to eat healthy I did calorie counting to "get my bearings" and now I can eyeball things, and know what to avoid. Several of my friends did weight watchers, and they loved it. It's really just simplified calorie counting, which makes it way more convenient.
