For all of you full time working moms like me, who think its impossible to actually have a routine... I found someone who, thankfully proves us wrong! If you don't already know her... meet Sasha, from http://www.sashasays.com/. I hope this little interview is as much as an inspiration to you, as it is to me! Thanks Sasha!
1. Sasha.. being that is your name, do you know what it means to be Sasha Fierce?
It makes me crazy that Beyonce is pronouncing it wrong! It's Sash-uh, not Sosh-uh! But really, my friends would tell you I'm not very fierce at all.... pretty mild mannered actually!
2. What is your weekly work out routine?
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Mr. Sasha picks up the kids so I can go straight home and get a run in before he gets home with the kids. I do the same from him on Monday and Wednesday. I also try to get runs in on Saturday and Sunday.
One of my goals for 09 is to do some strength training. I really like Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, and it's only 20 minutes, so my plan is to do this at least on Monday and Wednesday (the days I don't run) after dinner. Friday is rest day!
3. You have 2 kids right? How do you juggle, work, being a great mom, wife, and working out... and is your house clean? and laundry done?
Yes, two kids- The Politician is almost 5 1/2, and The Wild Child turns 3 on January 3rd.
Honestly, I just had to shift my priorties around. I'm no supermom, and that's OK. I make sure kids and family are first. Sasha is second on the list- if Momma doesn't take care of herself- this house of cards can fall down fast! My job comes next- it provides a great income, health insurance for my family and a fabulous retirement plan. Everything else is on the list after those three things.
Clean house? Forget about it! We do have a housekeeper who comes in every other Wednesday and spends about 3 hours cleaning, and it's the best use of $60 I can think of! I actually love to do laundry (I'm weird) so I don't really consider that a chore- it's a bit of a release!
Since having my second child, there are a few things I had to put on the back burner- reading the multiple fashion/beauty magazines I used to read (In Style- oh how I miss you!) and reading fiction. I did chose Glamour as my one guilty pleasure to read each month, and I try to stay up-to-date on trends and new products while reading blogs at work (shh... I multi-slack!) The Internet is also how I keep in touch with friends and make new ones too!
4. What motivates you and your work out?
Honestly, I saw Mr. Sasha's energy level fall to non-existent after we got married and he put on some newlywed weight. I didn't want that to happen to me! And I love food... I love treats. So if figure if I take care of myself and exercise, I can indulge a little in the things I enjoy- like BEER!
5. What advice do you have for all of us out there that feel life is too crazy to fit in a work out but want to!
Just make it happen. Start slow if you have to, but do it. Let your significant other know that you've got some new priorities, and you're going to need some help in being able to get it done.
But here's the biggest piece of advice I have- figure out what you love! If you hate the treadmill, it's not going to happen. I purchased two sets of The Firm videos before I finally figured out that these chicks get on my nerves and piss me off so I'm never going to make it through the whole workout!
When I found the Couch to 5K Plan (it teachers the non-runner how to run a 5K) I put my treadmill in front of the TV and got a dual-tuner DVR and now I have lots of fabulous TV to watch while I exercise. And I used to dread running outside and get so bored just listening to music- until I discovered podcasts and audio books. Now I listen to Sophie Kinsella books or the That's What She Said podcast about my favorite show, The Office, and time flies.....
Another awesome tip is to set a goal with a group of friends. Last year 4 of my sorority sisters and I signed up to run a marathon relay together! I can't tell you how good it felt to run across the finish line holding hands with my best friends!
6. Does your husband work out... if so, do you to this together, or do you alternate and take turn with the kids?
Mr. Sasha does work out too- he's a former college football player who gained about 60 pounds after he was done playing ball. After he saw my success with the Couch to 5K plan, he did the plan too and got back in to great shape. (You can see his amazing transformation here.)
We pretty much do our own things when it comes to working out. For me, working out is a chance to have some "Me Time" which I don't get very often.

Do you like the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred? I need something that the un-coordinated (ME!) can do! I have the Walk Away The Pounds DVDs (3 pack from Walmart) and love them so far! I PLAN to get back into trying the C25K.
Sasha is AWESOME!!!! A total and complete super mom! :-)
I'm inspired!

Uniforms! Such a controversial issue nowadays, for wholesale electronics more and more schools force their students to wear uniforms every day. When seeing a sea of students all china wholesale with tiring expressions and exactly the same clothes, I can’t help but china electronics wholesale ask, is uniform really a sign of unification as its name suggests? What wholesale do students truly benefit from this “compulsory sense of unity”? It’s indisputable wholesale that middle school students are experiencing the most fascinating period of life, a time china wholesale when the consciousness of beauty should have been promoted. What they really want is a stage to display their individuality and to demonstrate their unique existence, but not to be treated like machinery which was brought about by institutionalization. It’s their unalienable right to choose what to wear and realize their own values within effective guidance, but not to be misled to a wrong conception that being even a little bit different from others is uneasy.Secondly, wearing the same uniform curtails the freedom of these young people.
